An Apprenticeship is a paid job that combines the opportunity to work towards recognised qualifications whilst gaining valuable experience within the practice.
Apprenticeships are open to all ages and can be used to attract and recruit new talent as well as providing opportunities for existing staff to upskill and progress within their role and career.
There are hundreds of different apprenticeships from Level 2 qualifications right through to degree and Level 7 qualifications.
There are apprenticeship programmes in clinical and nursing roles, as well as a wide range of administration and business support apprenticeships.
The term ‘grow your own’ is often used to promote apprenticeships as this really captures the value of maximising apprenticeships – both for individuals and the business.
The Training Hub have a dedicated Apprenticeship Team to support both individuals and practices and can provide:
- Help and advice in identifying the right apprenticeship programme
Information on apprenticeship career pathways – for both clinical and non-clinical roles
Details on the funding that is available. It is important to mention that we have secured the commitment of the Northamptonshire ICS to fund primary care apprenticeships through the transfer of Apprenticeship Levy which means that in most cases, the cost of the apprenticeship programme can be fully funded.
Updates on current projects to increase the number of apprentices working in primary care
Tailored help and support to work with PCN’s and practices to identify opportunities to introduce apprenticeships.
