Breaking News

Government recommendations have encouraged primary care teams to learn together in order to improve both teamworking and the quality of care for patients.

PLT are peer led sessions for GPs, Registered nurses, healthcare assistants, allied health professionals and physician associates across Northamptonshire.

Practices in a locality or within a Community Health Partnership (CHP) close for an afternoon to allow for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) learning activities

Northamptonshire offers a mix of In-House and Countywide PLT events. The Training Hub has taken the lead in arranging PLT cross federation, to extend the levels of collaboration across our PCN network. The countywide sessions take place during the afternoon of the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Details of upcoming PLT sessions can be found via the link. Our GP Protected Learning Time (PLT) events are held on a regular basis and contribute towards your CPD.

PLT creates an opportunity for healthcare professionals to learn about new clinical developments, updates to guidance and best practice whilst sharing experience and knowledge with Peers. This integration not only brings geographical teams together but empowers all multidisciplinary teams across primary care.

For Practice engagement it is a essential means of team building, keeping teams updated and feeding staff with morale, engagement and positive working relationships.

The Northamptonshire Primary Care Training Hub has assumed the responsibility or organising the Countywide PLT sessions for GP's Nurse/AHP and Non-Clinical staff.
