CPD Funding

The CPD funding is allocated at £1000 per eligible professional over 3 years (funding round started in April 2020). This is year two of the three-year period (2020/21 – 2022/23). You can find more information on eligibility and application process for this funding next.

Which professionals are eligible to receive CPD funding?

  • Registered Nurses (including registered Practice Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Specialist, Extended Role Practice Nurse, Nursing Partner, Nurse Dispenser), Midwives, Nursing Associates.
  • The AHPs are: Art Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Radiographer, Operating Department Practitioner, Chiropodist/Podiatrist, Dietitian, Orthoptist, Prosthetist/Orthotist, Drama Therapist, Osteopath, Speech and Language Therapist, Music Therapist.

CPD funding is for your personal and professional development and intends to:

  • equip you with new clinical skills to enhance the care you provide to patients and develop your career
  • support the maintenance of your continuing professional registration by helping you to meet requirements from your professional regulator

CPD funding is not for:

  • mandatory training
  • salaries, backfill, travel or subsistence
  • to be used for roles, i.e., secondments to rotational roles for leadership development
  • pay for learning equipment like laptops / tablets
  • administration costs (the funding is an individual development fund)

For practitioners who wish to undertake their own choice of course not available from our courses, the Training Hub asks that you book the course in question and submit a receipt to  the training hub via our email address. Reimbursement up to the value of £333 will then be organised as soon as possible, assuming it meets the CPD requirements as per above.
