Fully funded training for all new General Practice Nurses!
Are you a nurse who is new to General Practice? Or do you have a new nurse at your practice, or one due to start soon? If so, then please read this important information below!
We have 3 fully-funded places available on the Practice Nursing BSc/PG Cert at De Montfort University, starting in January 2025.
The aim of the programme is to prepare registered nurses who have not worked in general practice before to have a baseline competence in the general practice nurse (GPN) role.
The programme includes the key clinical skills required for the role of a GPN; venepuncture, ear care, wound management, cervical cytology and immunisation and vaccination training, as well as providing the foundations for chronic condition management. Module content is aligned to the Royal College of General Practitioners’ (RCGP) competencies. The programme is designed to develop both clinical and academic skills to prepare for a career in General Practice Nursing.
