Social Prescribers form part of the ARRS roles within Primary Care and are one of the featured roles being promoted by Health Education England (HEE) and the wider NHS.
In recognition of this, The Northamptonshire Primary Care Training Hub has created a development pathway that is intended both to support and nurture our SPLW's.
We have broken this into 5 specific pathways.
- Continuous: supervision meetings / peer support group
- HEE Programme https://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/social-prescribing/
- PCI modules https://www.personalisedcareinstitute.org.uk/your-learning-options/
- QI project for each individual to develop and implement
- Specifics to role training, may be short courses, webinars (can be informed by the supervision meetings)
Continuous Supervision Meetings
- Monthly peer group support
- Sessions meeting in person
- Timed, supervised, group sessions
- Case load group, feedback, shared practice discussions.
- Providing a supportive cross-county network to share ideas and best practice
- Clinical Supervision Lead Training
This takes place monthly at the Moulton Community Centre. Sessions take place between 2PM and 4PM and are open to all SPLW's as well as Care Co-ordinators and Health & Wellbeing Coaches.
